Cairde Visual Open Submission Exhibition will take place at the Hamilton Gallery, Castle Street, Sligo from Saturday the July 1st  to Friday 21st July 2023.

Submissions are accepted from Thursday April 20th to Friday May 19th 5pm.

Selected artists will be notified by email early June. 

Selected works can be dropped off to the Hamilton Gallery on Monday June 26th.

Unsold artworks must be collected from the Hamilton Gallery on Saturday July 22nd.

Terms & Conditions

1. Up to three pieces may be submitted. Work must not have been exhibited in Sligo before. Deadline for submissions is Friday May 19th. Successful artists will be notified by email early June.

2. Submitted Works must be ready to hang (no clip frames). Please note there is a size limit of 1 metre by 1 metre frame included. Oversized artworks will not be considered in the selection process.

3. Submission fees are €15 for one piece, €20 for two pieces and €25 for three. Only submissions accompanied by the appropriate fee will be accepted.

4. Photographs must be submitted electronically. Please upload one j-peg image for 2D pieces and 2 - 3 images for 3D pieces. J-pegs must be high quality and must be clearly labelled with the title of the piece, NOT the name of the artist to facilitate the anonymous selection process. 

5. Transport of works to the Gallery is the Artist’s responsibility. We will notify selected artists of dates for delivery of work. Each work must be delivered unwrapped and with a label attached (title of piece + artist name)

6. Cairde Sligo Arts Festival (CSAF) will take every precaution to ensure the safety of Artist’s work. However, CSAF cannot be held responsible for damage due to loss or theft of any work selected for exhibition.

7. CSAF reserves the right to use provided images or to photograph work for publicity purposes.

8. Work Sold during and as a result of Cairde Visual Open Submission is subject to 30% commission on the selling price, prices on entry forms should include this commission.

9. Unsold artworks must be collected and signed for on Saturday 22nd July, from the Hamilton Gallery. (Uncollected artworks will be relocated to CSAF storage thereafter)

10. Any uncollected works will be subject to a storage fee of €5 per week, artworks not collected after 8 weeks will be considered the property of CSAF. 

11. The administration of Prizes awarded by third parties is not the responsibility of CSAF or Cairde Visual.

12. By submitting work to Cairde Visual Open Submission Exhibition, artists are agreeing to these terms and conditions. The decisions of our selection panel are final. Submissions fees are non refundable.
